Why CBD ? by: Adam Mahan

More and more people are turning to CBD products to ease their pains and discomforts without the cascading side effects of pharmaceuticle drugs.

The history of Cannabidiol stretches far back, thousands of years, to around the time of the first ice age. Archaeological evidence suggests the Cannabis was one of the very first crops planted by early humans. It is also said that it's likely that this particular crop led to the growth and development of civilization in general. But did you know this plant has a hidden compund that has been proven to treat hundreds of different disorders and diseases?

CBD can help fight most, if not all, forms of cancer, it can treat inflammatory and pain-associated disorders, it can protect you from Neurodegenerative diseases, can help with the symptoms of Schizophrenia, can reduce seizures in people with Epilepsy, can reduce anxiety, can relieve pain, can reduce nausea and increase appetite, can lower the incidence of Diabetes, and can improve heart health.

In the 70's, medicinal uses of CBD were discovered by Brazilian scientists. They found that CBD was able to reduce or even prevent convulsions caused by Epilepsy in animals. A year later, it was determined that CBD functions as an anxiolytic (inhibits anxiety).

Still in the 70's further research was done on the medicinal uses of CBD. It was found that is reduces the nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, and was found to help people suffering from insomnia.

In the 80's, it was found that CBD has antipsychotic effects, and can diminsh symptoms like altered perception and depersonalisation.

Nearing the end of the 1980's, scientists discovered cannabinoid receptors are naturally found in the nervous system, the endocannabinoid system.

During the end of the 90's, it was discovered that CBD is a pretty powerful cellular antioxidant. This means that CBD can reduce the degeneration of neurons caused by diseases like Alzheimers or Parkinson's. Also at the end of the 90's, pharmaceutical companies were allowed to produce a medicine called Sativex, which included CBD and THC, for medical use.

In the early 2000's, studies were conducted on the effect of CBD on cells in the immune system, as well as its anti-inflammatory and calming properties.  It was concluded that CBD slows the advance of rheumatoid arthritis and regulates the presence of molecules involved in the development of tumours.

In recent years, the CBD business has grown quite a lot. More products are being approved and released for use, and more are being produced all the time. There are also many new ways of using the compund. You can apply it topically, take it in capsule form, you can use it in a vaporizer, and you can even get it in the form of candy and baked goods.

CBD is basically like a medicinal god. This one reasonably priced compund has the effects of hundreds, if not thousands, of medicines currently on the market or being prescribed. Go ahead and give CBD a try the next time you have an ailment. You'd be surprised at what it can do for you.
